Practice notes:

The Clinics operate special full service diabetes care sessions with dietetic, laboratory and nursing support to the physician, with insulin pump training available on site. Group sessions for patient support such as carbohydrate counting and exercise classes are held regularly. School age patients are particularly welcome at times of group training sessions, usually held on weekend mornings.

New patients should bring their active insurance information and cards with them and obtain and bring or ask to have sent all relevant clinical information such as growth records, bone ages, MRIs, bone scans, thyroid scans, laboratory tests as relevant to their endocrine problem.

Emergencies and Support:

Now you are part of the BioSeek Clinics program you can get expert help around the clock, seven days per week. The pump companies that the Clinic works closely with maintain diabetes educators on call at all times. Knowledgeable clinical physicians in training in endocrinology from the Clinic take emergency call, and who will contact Dr Maclaren or his medical assistants as needed. Periodic meetings are held by the clinic to cover such topics as carbohydrate counting, our exercise program and research. Many patients contact the Clinic with their blood glucose levels by email or fax and are advised similarly by return email or fax.
